Amritsari Paneer recipe is a delicious north Indian gravy based Paneer Dish that has a rich and delectable gravy accented with delicate spices. This paneer recipe is very easy to make and can be prepared in less than 20 minutes. Reflecting the authentic flavors of Punjab, this dish can be served as a main dish. It can be best served with Naan or a Tawa Paratha.
Special Tips to make Amritsari Paneer
- To cook the vegan version of this recipe, replace tofu with paneer.
- Since this recipe is spicy, you can adjust or include the spices as per your liking.
To start with, Slice the paneer into thick cubes. In case you are using frozen paneer, then keep it in the warm water before the prep
Take a medium sized bowl and combine flour, salt, ginger - garlic paste, turmeric powder, ajwain, garam masala, tandoori Masala, and red chili Powder. Add half tbsp of oil and toss the batter well with the help of a whisk or spoon.
Drizzle a few drops of water if needed. Make sure that there should not be batter should not have any lumps.
Now add the paneer cubes in the mixture and toss well to coat the paneer well with this mixture. Allow paneer to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan, add paneer cube and Roast them on medium to low flame. Sauté occasionally so cubes may not stick to each other.
Once the paneer cubes are roasted, transfer them in a plate separately.
Garnish it with coriander leaves, sprinkle some chat Masala on it and serve hot with tomato sauce.
