Bamboo biryani is a delicious and inventive biryani recipe in which rice is cooked with authentic spices and chicken inside a bamboo. It is a south Indian Rice Recipe dish which is served as a main dish. This super delicious bamboo biryani recipe will surely give a punch to your taste buds, and it is best to serve with raita and pickle.

Special tips to cook Bamboo Chicken Biryani

  • You can also cook this biryani on a gas stove using a pressure cooker. Take bamboo shoots and fill 2 tbsp of marinade chicken and four spoons full of rice. Repeat the process with the rest of the bamboo shoots. Cover the bamboo shoots with foil and place it inside the pressure cooker. Add 3 cups of water in the pressure cooker and cook for 30 minutes. 
  • Instead of Campfire, you can also cook bamboo biryani in sticks stove. Just place bamboo shoots filled with chicken and biryani inside the sticks stove and leave it for 30 minutes. You will get the same delicious taste.

Soak rice in water for 20 minutes.

Marinating Chicken

Take chicken into a mixing bowl.

Combine garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, fried onion, black pepper powder, yogurt, salt and oil in it and mix it well. Leave this mixture for an hour.

Marinating Rice

Take soaked rice in a mixing bowl and combine biriyani Masala, garam Masala, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, fried onion, ginger garlic paste, green chili in it and mix it thoroughly. Keep this mixture aside for one hour.

Clean the bamboo streams very thoroughly with clean water and put some oil on the inner part of it.

First, take marinade chicken and stuff it inside the bamboo shot till the half of the bamboo.

Fill the remaining half of the bamboo with marinated rice and Add 1.5 cups of water into the bamboo stream. This water will run down to the bottom of the bamboo through the leaks and will help in cooking.

Now cover the bamboo stick with aluminum foil or banana leaf adequately. Tie it with wire or cotton thread.

Cooking Bamboo Chicken Biryani

Set fire outside and put the bamboos on it. Leave it for another 40-50 minutes. Bamboo should be properly burnt. Once done, remove the bamboo from the fire and leave it for 10 minutes, uncover it, and serve the hot biryani.
