How to make Foolproof Pan Pizza Recipe?
A foolproof pan pizza recipe is a delicious pizza recipe for those who love to eat pizza with the thick and crispy crust which is golden on the bottom, but slightly puffy and soft beneath the layers of pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. Pan pizza is generally made in the thick crust and has a square shape. It contains more cheese, sauce, and toppings then regular pizzas. This delicious pan pizza has airy, chewy crumb which further changes a crisp, golden-brown crust at the bottom and a soft and doughy at the top.
Tips to make Pan Pizza:
- You can use all-purpose flour for baking of this pizza.
- Use part or whole skim mozzarella for this recipe and shred it yourself, which will make your pizza better.
Mix flour, salt, yeast, water and oil in a large bowl. Using a spoon, mix it well until there is no dry dough.
Cover tightly with plastic sheets, make sure the edges are sealed well, let the dough rest on a room temperature for not less than 8 hours. The dough should rise by this time and would fill the bowl. In a hot kitchen, the dough can overflow as well.
For cooking pizza, give a quick knead the dough with flour and then move it to the work surface. Divide the dough into 2 pieces and hold each well with hands and make around using a rolling pin or hands.
Insert 1 or 2 tsp oil in a skillet or round cake pan and transfer the round dough crust in each pan and coat it with oil equally. With the help of palm, press the sides of the dough around the pan lightly, to flatten it and drizzle oil all around the sides of the pan.
Cover it evenly using plastic sheets and let the dough sit at room temperature for a few minutes. After that, adjust the oven rack to the middle position and heat the oven at 550 °
After a few minutes, the dough must be prepared. Press it slightly around using your hands until it fills in every corner. It will start displaying a few large bubbles. Pick up the one side of the dough without disturbing air bubbles and then repeat the process. Rotate the dough around very carefully and spread it evenly on the pan.
Take 3/4 cup sauce, spread the sauce over the crust using a spoon and sprinkle mozzarella paneer uniformly, on the edges all the way. Season with salt. Add other toppings as desired. Drizzle with olive oil and if desired, then spread some basil leaves on each pizza.
Transfer the pan to the oven. Now, bake it until it turns golden brown and crispy from the bottom. Let it bake for at least 7-8 minutes and then lift it using a spatula. After that, sprinkle some grilled Parmesan or Pecorino Romano cheese. Using a thin spatula, lift the pizza from the bottom and check if it is not crisp as desired, if not then keep the pan on a burner and cook it on medium heat, rotate to cook around until the pan pizza is crisped evenly. Further, remove the pizza and move it to a cutting board. Cut it into 6 equal slices.
