A turkey burger can be a delicious and healthy meal option. All this in a gluten-free bun served with garlic mayo paste and dripping in Italian sauces will surely make your mouth water.
In this recipe, Succulent Italian turkey burgers are prepared with a mix of ground turkey and turkey sausage finished off with grilled peppers and gooey Mozzarella cheese.
Tips to make Italian Turkey Burger Recipe
- You can add 2 tbsps of marinara sauce in the recipe and can shallow fry these patties in the marinara sauce once they are half cooked to add some extra flavor in the recipe.
- If arugula leaves are not available, you can take basil leaves for this recipe.
In a small mixing bowl, add mayonnaise, garlic and mix it together. Keep it aside as it will be used later.
Take a large bowl and add turkey meat, Italian seasoning, oregano, and pepper in a bowl and mix it well. Form mixture into 4 patties which should be 1 inch thick.
Preheat a large skillet on the gas stove over medium heat. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil in it and cook these turkey patties in it until brown and crisp for around 4 minutes. Cook each side of the patty thoroughly and once cooked, place cheese slices on it. Once melted properly, transfer it to a platter.
In the same skillet, place hamburgers and toast it until crisp.
Layer the bottoms of the buns with Italian sausage and add tomato slices on it. Top it with burger patties and arugula and add a layer of garlic mayonnaise on the top. Cover the burger with top bun and serve it hot.
