What is Teriyaki Burger Recipe and how to make Teriyaki Burger?

A teriyaki burger is another variation of hamburger in which hamburger is either topped with teriyaki sauce or with the sauce put into the ground meat patty. Originally from Japan cuisine, a teriyaki burger is just a Japanese twist on the American classic. It is an ultimate burger recipe made of beef patties mixed with crushed pineapple, bread crumbs, and teriyaki sauce and topped with Mayo makes it a burger to crave for.  You can try this recipe at home which can be prepared in a jiffy.

Tips to make Teriyaki Burger

  • You can also add some turkey meat along with beef meat in the burger patties. This will make your burger more delicious. 
  • Instead of making teriyaki sauce at home, you can go for ready-made teriyaki sauce.
  • You can put together the teriyaki marinade while making a mixture for patties.

Making Teriyaki Sauce

Take a small bowl, combine the ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, crushed pineapple, ginger, garlic, and oil. Mix it well. Heat a pan and add this mixture in the pan and let it come to a boil. Keep stirring until sugar is dissolved in the mixture. Low the flame and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes. Once you see small bubbles appearing, switch off the flame and transfer this sauce in a jar.

Making Burger

Take a large mixing bowl and combine beaten egg (white portion of an egg), bread crumbs, onions, crushed pineapple, and 1 tbsp of teriyaki sauce and some salt. Crumble the beef into the mixture and toss it well. Form 4 patties which should be half an inch wider than your burger bun.

Pre heats the grill and lightly coat the grill rack with cooking oil. Lay burger patties on a heated grill and let it grill. Brush the burgers with teriyaki sauce on each side and cook it for 5 -7 minutes on each side until they are finely glazed.

Lay the cut side of the buns on the grill and toast these buns on the grill until well charred and crisp. Also, grill pineapple slices and lettuce leaves for 1-2 minutes on the grill and keep it aside.

Spread some mayonnaise on cut side of the bottom and top bun. Place lettuce and onion slices on the bottom bun. Place burger patties and spread some tariyaki sauce on it. Layer pineapple slices, tomato slices and sprinkle some salt and top with another half of the bun. Serve it hot.
