What makes this coffee so special is that the coffee beans come from the excrement of a cat-sized animal, called Common Palm Civet. Rats are a common food in South Korea, where they’re hunted and eaten daily because they’re a cheap meal and their taste is similar to chicken. It’s not just the food of the poor, in China being also served in restaurants.

The preparation method is the following: the snakes head is cut off and the blood is drained in a glass bottle, the bile is added and then served as a treatment for breathing and skin problems, stomach aches and indigestions. The courage of drinking the blood that is drained from the snakes’ body is considered to be a proof of manhood.
